It all began when artist Ivan Clarke left for a holiday. He looked back and saw his dog looking wistfully after him. “That dog is lonely,” he said. Upon his return, Ivan painted a lively realistic image of a dog, standing fully clothed, looking longingly at a departing ship. From this point on, Ivan began telling the story of “Lonely Dog” and a legacy was born. In the fantasy world of Averidge, dogs and cats live together. It’s a sophisticated world, shown in rich vibrant paintings, with a warm 1950’s vibe. The paintings follow the story told in the Book Alveridgea, of an abandoned orphan houndling who ultimately emerges as a dappy, pin-stripe suited rocker. New for 2019, Lonely Dog is a twelve month calendar with spacious grids with international holidays and moon phases. There are sections at the back of the calendar for emergency contact information and birthdays/anniversaries and a full-page 3-year at-a-glance. Earth friendly, printed with soya-based inks on FSC certified paper.
